How I Help You Close The Gap
Most men I work with already know they should quit drinking. They’ve read the books, they’ve white-knuckled a few weeks or months sober, they’ve told themselves “this time is different.” That’s not the problem. The problem is the gap between knowing and doing, and that gap is where I do my work.
Intellectual sobriety isn’t the same as emotional sobriety. You already have the first one.
I help high-functioning professional men close that gap using the same discipline that built their careers, applied to the one area they’ve never systematically approached: getting sober and staying that way.
Emotional Sobriety — the underlying reasons you turn to alcohol in the first place, stress, avoidance, old patterns you learned before you had better tools.
Cravings Mastery — what actually happens in your body and mind in the moment an urge hits, and how to move through it instead of around it.
Habits Rewiring — how your daily structure, routines, and environment either support the life you want or quietly work against it.
Close the gap in all three, and staying sober stops being a daily fight. It becomes who you are.
About Alex
I Know the Gap Because I Lived In It For 20 Years
For over two decades I built a career as an engineer, eventually leading capital projects worth tens of millions of dollars. On paper, everything looked right, a solid career, a family, a life plenty of people would call successful.
Underneath it, I was a binge drinker for all of it, stuck in a cycle of quitting and relapsing I couldn’t explain to anyone, including myself. I tried to do it alone for years, because I believed I should be able to. I wasn’t broken. I was just missing the right approach, and trying to find it by myself.
The breakthrough wasn’t willpower. It was realizing I didn’t have to figure this out alone. Once I stopped white-knuckling it and started learning the actual mechanics of why I drank, everything changed.
I’ve been sober for five years now. I took what I learned and built it into a structured system, The Sobriety Gap Method, so other men don’t have to spend twenty years finding their own way through it like I did.
If any part of my story sounds familiar, you’re not broken either. Let’s talk.
